BACKGROUND

The DHSC FASD Health Needs Assessment laid the foundation for FASD becoming a mainstream health and social care matter.  It says “the Government recognises the importance of FASD” – so no doctor can deny its importance again.

Following its release, NICE announced its Quality Standard on FASD, which shines further light on FASD as well as indicating what steps need to be taken to improve the lives of people in the UK with FASD.

It was in the wake of these two policy documents that National FASD coordinated the creation of the ‘The Time is Now: The National Perspective on Ramping up FASD Prevention, Diagnosis and Support Services’ report, which collates existing policy and lived experience into a practical way forward for FASD in the UK.

Below are links to the documents and links that we suggest sending to your GP’s surgery.
