This CPD-accredited E-course is for Maternity Teams and is free to access for anyone working in this area. It contains the most up to date guidance for practitioners. It includes case studies and interactive techniques to maintain engagement and aims to build confidence and knowledge around alcohol in pregnancy. It was developed in collaboration with the Royal College of Midwives.
Our comprehensive course is structured into several informative modules, each designed to provide essential insights and guidance on the critical topic of alcohol and pregnancy.
The course covers the risks associated with alcohol consumption during pregnancy, exploring the motivations behind why some women choose to drink while expecting. We offer a thorough understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and the implications it has. Our course also equips learners with the skills for effective and empathetic conversations with pregnant women, along with techniques for comprehensively assessing and documenting alcohol consumption. Furthermore, we provide strategies for supporting pregnant women dealing with alcohol dependency and those already affected by FASD. Join us to empower yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of pregnant women and their unborn children.
